Heading in now with bogmyrtle. Meeting Irish party ale in there. You should see us clustered around the Galway Hooker stand.

Posted this in the wrong thread yeasterday

Just back really good day out and a load of beer Smile If have not try cask conditioned beer, this is a really go opportunity to try some. there is a good range of porter and stouts ironic considering its on the grounds of the Guinness estate

My recommendation, of what i got to try

Clotworthy Dobbin Ale, Whitewater (cask conditioned), bottle will be appearing all across Ireland in the next few weeks:)

Porter house plain (cask conditioned) maybe on sale cask conditioned in the near future Very Happy

Messrs Maguire imperial porter (cask conditioned), also white gypsy is planning to do some oak barrel (America and French) conditioned of their imperial porter, sweet

O'hara celebration stout (cask conditioned), really nice big stout and so different to Guinness

Galway hooker

Beoir corca dhuibhe Beal ban (cask conditioned), a little yeasty.

One other thing i was chatting to the porter house lads and it was the ICB visit that has spurred them on the release the plain porter on cask, Well done ICB

Also there a plain to double the event next years

I was at Farmleigh yesterday in the pishings of rain and was surprised to see it so busy considering the weather. I only tried 4 beers there but brought home the 4 Hilden beers.

Cask Messrs Maguire Stout - First sup was really nice but it faded away quite badly after that

Cask Belfast Ale - Really tasty stuff...if only it was readily available down here. The lads said their bottles of Belfast Ale and Clotworthy Dobbin should be available in off licences in Dublin next week

Tig Bhric white beer (forget the name of it) - This was really disappointing. Poor smell and taste with a nasty TCP aftertaste

Finished up with a Hooker after that

I know that the brewers can't be giving away their beer for free as they have to make money, but I think that the prices they charged was way too high. €2.50 for what seemed like less than half a pint is far too much for people who don't know their beers to spend on something that they might not even like. (and €4 a bottle take home isn't exactly a bargain either!)

I am just hopping its was just poor cask storage, but the was a weird chalk like taste to it

I was there, just for a couple of hours, on Saturday. A gorgeous day, lots of families. Most people were sitting outside, so there was loads of room in the marquee. Almost like 'summer'.

Delzep, the glasses [i:2r5n8oxm]were[/i:2r5n8oxm] half pint. For an event that was free in €2.50 wasn't too bad, although I wouldn't fancy paying any more. Also they were all giving out free tasters to anyone that was unsure.

Belfast Ale was nice alright.
