It's my local, not a bad spot, although I've only been in it twice, I have to admit that since I homebrew I don't really like paying other people too much money for beer which probably isn't as good as mine.....
I had the porterhouse plain and it's a nice enough pint. Their food is good, I do know that.
It's also the local of a friend in mead and bog_myrtle, but I think having spoken to them that they don't really do pubs much either.

I wouldn't go that far, I think we have a healthy respect for both

And yes, we're hugely embarrassed by that flyer, it's not our fault

Hi Chris, welcome aboard, and thanks for joining.

It's a different business model, though one which I'd love to see in Rathmines.

So can you confirm who your brewer is?

And have you anything else in the pipeline for the beer geeks? Specials and seasonals?

The barmaid said the beer is from Tipperary, so I'm taking as read that it's White Gypsy.[/quote:6s3sd2vh]

Could that be the same stout as they sold in the Abbot Ale house on tap a few months back (might still have I dunno). Think it was called Fitzgeralds Stout there...it was delicious

Quite honestly I haven't had enough time to find out everything yet, we only took over two weeks ago. So the initial opening period was nothing to do with us, in fact it's why were brought in

What can I say by reassurance? I have been told our brewer is based in Tipperary and only supplies us. I assume that means that our beers are exclusive to us, not that we are their sole customer. I have put in quite a bit of work on the taps/lines etc and I hope the quality is improving. I am trying to get the temperatures on the Mizzen and Dearg raised slightly, for the moment I'm settling for serving them in slightly warm glasses.

As for the Beer Pub thing, in a venue this size we can't really be too specialised. We are certainly going to push our House Brews and I'm seeing what I can do about bringing in some speciality brews in bottles, probably as weekly or fortnightly promotions. Spitfire has caught my eye and may well be the first on the list if I can organise it. We are going to be running events pretty much constantly, from after work barbecues to wild party nights to movie screenings to live bands.

Any suggestions and/or requests are welcome. I can't promise I'll be able to act on them but I'll certainly give it a shot

Like I say, a bit of variety in the beer would be great. You can't claim you lack bar space
