I saw the new sign at Tramco this morning on the way into town. Any idea if its open for business yet? Any brewing on the premises?

not open yet, still looks like there's a good bit of work to be done.by that i mean cosmetic rather than structural.i presume everything else remained in situ from its last incarnation, which cant have been too long ago. there's no branding on the taps yet but the barrels have indeed become tables. there are what appears to be "old" grain sacks above the bar, and other such brewery parafernalia.there was also a sign looking for staff. i've no idea i there will be brewing there but I couldnt see any kit (through the very dusty window).

Couldn't find anything on the planning database, and I'd have thought they'd need permission to put in a brewery.

They are working hard at it. I wonder is opening planned for this weekend.

The new-look Rathmines Inn has definite ideas above its station as a heritage pub on the tourist circuit. The blurb on the back of the menu is a work of tragi-comic genius: the chief claims to fame are a musician who has played with Christy Moore and the birthplace of Brendan O'Carroll's career.

Interestingly, the signage is all Beamish-branded. Could be the first bit of promotion Heineken have done for the brand.
