Growler fills in Irish pubs? 12 years 9 months ago #31

Im not going to pay the same price for a pint that I take away from the pub. I see this service as an off trade and should have similar prices to it. There are a few Id love to have at home but if they are overpriced Ill just stop in for the one then go to the offie for some takeaway.

But that pint is considerably cheaper in sweetmans than other places which is why i dont think them charging the same.
Now i defo wouldnt buy them from the cottage group at 5.10 a pint.

Our growlers in LMG are ten euro for the growler. They are1L siphons so you get just shy of one litre of beery loveliness. We sanitise them and at the moment are putting together a sanitising kit and growler care instructions. Irish brewers have worked incredibly hard on the quality of their product and the last thing we want is off flavours in poorly cleaned growlers damaging a brand's reputation. We fill from the bottom with sanitised piping and are looking into other fill options.

I'll post an image of the prices once I am in work, but we price each beer according to its cost price and on a take away margin, so the price of Metalman for example would be different to the White Gyspy Amber. I think Metalman is about 6 euro from memory.

Our intention is to bring the 'grocer' element back to LMG. On Saturdays we have Arun bakery bread, 3FE coffee, wall and Keogh tea by the gram and cheeses.

Will post the photo later.
