Who has a definitive history of the Style?
I'm extremely unread, but look towards the origin of the style and take a cue from there.
Why not resurrect tradition?

What about holding it on Arthur's actual birthday, the 24th?
Instead of coinciding with whichever day fits Diageo's marketing plan that year.
