i never made beer can chicken but it seems to use the steam from beer to keep the chicken moist. looks intresting and i might give it a go. (not in work mind)
anyone have any hints?

I cook beer can chicken all the time now. Have used smithwicks/guinness/lager and don't notice much of a difference. Drink half the can and then pierce holes in the top half of the can. I use dry marinade/rub (from Aldi) on the skin and it turns out lovely, lots of crispy skin and moist meat. It cooks a lot quicker this way too.
