How hard would it be to persuade "the restaurant" to have one of the craft beers? Would it be worth asking? And a completely valid response to that is "Here is some headed Beoir notepaper ask away"

I'm not really familiar with The Restaurant's format. Does the celebrity chef pick the wines? 'Cos if so it's going to be a non-starter*.

Yes the celebrity picks the wines. I am not sure that makes it a non starter. If whoever the celebrity is had the option of going for an Irish beer or cider they might take it. If we encouraged the makers of the restaurant to make it an option they might make it an option. It would be a fairly unlikely chain of optioning.

How do you know they don't have an option of beer or cider?

If I were the producer of The Restaurant, and I got a letter saying "What about beer and cider", I'd send one back saying the drink choice is entirely up to the celeb and nothing to do with Vision Independent Productions, its subsidiaries or shareholders.

I really don't think the Restaurant is a suitable target. I don't think there is one -- Irish telly doesn't even have any decent wine or other drinks content.

I dont think us fingerwagging will get beer and cider anywhere. But if it would improve the program it would be in their interests to at least allow it.

The easiest way to find out if the Restaurant would be a runner is to lob a Tweet over to Tom Doorley. He was frequently promoted Irish craft beer on his stream.
