Ah maybe so but you can say its propable,I have an image of Will D.s ancestors standing on the battlefield and the English king up on his horse looking him straight in the eye and asking "do you want to kill French noble men this day","aye" he would say and lifting his mighty bow fire off his arrows,"take that tzar co zee".

What is the Irish version of Saturday Kitchen? Is it the restaurant? Do they always have a wine choice or is it sometimes beer?

What about that Rachel Allen show. Actually, the recent series with the floppy haired boy-child would have been livened up if they'd shown him making nibbles for a middle-of-the-field session- "And these cheese straws really hold their own when drinking Linden Village..."

Donal Skehan? I have strange maternal feelings toward that man. I can empathise with how middle aged ladies feel about "Dr boyish good looks" you get on daytime chat shows.

AFAIK they always have wine, but I don't think it equates to our version of Saturday kitchen.

I watched the first episode of Donal Skehan's series. Tins of heineken and bottles of Kopperberg featured fairly prominantly on the table (along with plenty if other items stocked in your local Sp*r <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: --> )

We'll just have to stick with Fair City.

I don't think there is an equivalent.

The galling thing about Saturday Kitchen is they do the foody-cooky bit, then cut to a pre-recorded segment where the wine expert is filmed going into a supermarket and picking wines to go wth the dish. Cut back to the live studio where the participants are drinking the wine. The aim is to get the drinks person over into the beer aisle now and again.
