I saw a van for the Dublin Brewing Company driuving around yesterday. Are they back? Please say yes.

They're not.

In addition to the brewery they ran a distribution business for a handful of imported brands. The brewery is gone but the distribution is still going on out of the King Street depot and that's where the van is based.

The brewery premises is still not let. The bar (site of my first date with the now Mrs. Beer Nut) is still set up with taps, stools, benches all covered in years of dust.

With the redevelopment of Smithfield, and Stonybatter now the height of metropolitan fashion, there's fantastic scope for a brewpub there. Anyone want to lend me 200 grand and their brewing skills?
