Heres a supplier of larger sized malt orders. These guys stock 25kg sacks of DME and other malted treats. They also make the John Bull range of extract I believe.

If you fully understood the measures required for proper sanitary yeast propagation and storage, and was prepared to invest some time and resources, it might be possible to establise a yeast bank of numerous yeast strains. And of course sell that liquid yeast to others at a fraction of the cost of the other brands!! This is what some brewers-clubs do in the US.

How will you be dealing with shipping?

The biggest problem I have with ordering malt is having it delivered, at a time when I will be in the house.

Hi Adepus, Can get 3 and 25kg bags at the moment, we are still sourcing materials . Dont have exact prices as of yet, have to see what costs are involved. As far as delivery costs we are looking at next day delivery for about 7 euro anywhere in Ireland up to 30kg.

As far as grains go we are looking at 3kg bags. We can get 500g also if needed of speciality malts.
Pale malts:
Golden promise
Maris Otter + Extra pale
Optic
Halcyon
Pearl
Mild ale
Belgian Pale

Hey Kenmc. Location is in Laois. One partner is in Dublin. Supplies are kept in Laois. Not brick n mortar as the wife would faint if I told her I was quiting job to do this. This is sideline for the mo but who knows.

Ichiban, have been in contact with that link previously. Negotiations are ongoing. I like your yeast idea but will have to be down the line. Need to get up and running. Takes alot of effort.

Hey Sean, I can get any deliveries to my partner in Dublin and then a time can be arranged for pick-up.

I as a research I regular made stocks of human cell and recombinant bacteria, it generally not hard to do, you do need a bit of equipment if you plan to have a few cultures on the going, autoclave, -20c fridge etc.

But the main limitation I can see is if it’s a registered company there would be a whole load of paper work and laws/rules especially since the product in going to be used in food/beverage production. Such as proving the brewing cultures are infected with pathogenic bacteria.

wow thats cheap and quick! That'd work for me. I just hope that you will be able to keep enough of everything on hand to keep 90% of people happy 90% of the time.
Will you be supplying crushed or uncrushed by the way?

Since you're hoping to supply cornys, do you also plan on stocking Widget World gas?

A friend of mine lives in Portlaoise - this might be the opportunity needed to go visit him more often, if I could also pop by and pick up some bits n pieces <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
