After a few pints of my witbier (An Bán Oráiste), I had a (non beer) redbreast. Time to sleep as I have to bring aunt in law to Dublin airport tomorrow...

That had crossed my mind too. Do you think the colour is to style...?
It's roughly Märzen-coloured, isn't it? Maybe a tad darker than usual? But compare it with this year's Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfestbier, as seen on Ron's blog here[/url:1u571x61]. Why tack on the "Oktoberfest" bit to a different beer which they aren't going to be selling at Wies'n itself?
Oh right, 'cos Heineken are devious feckers who'll do anything for a fast buck...
Erdinger for me tonight. Depressed after the rugby so got the other half to head to our local macro-only offy. Since Erdinger was the beer that opened my eyes to the magic world of craft beer it's not a bad thing.
I got some beautiful pilsener from the Black Forest today from a colleague at work, I'm also going to get the empty case when he's finished with it.
It's Tannen Zaepfle pils, lovely stuff, quite hoppy but subtle, very very nice, highly recommended.
