Last night I had 4 Goods Store IPA's at The Bull and castle before having some Paulaner and Guinness at Fibbers.

Enjoying an Erdinger Urweisse from my weissbier box after finally finishing varnishing the kitchen floor. Thank god that's over...

What is the difference between an Urweisse and a standard weissbier? Is it a recognised subset of weissbiers or is it just a branding thing? It's a bit spicier than the normal Erdinger weissbier, I think, more fruity overtones as well. Not sure which I prefer, probably this one I think.

Also had a few Brahma with a curry earlier on, absolutely flavourless fizz but still somehow adds something to the whole curry experience - what can I say?

I'm not sure, but "ur" suggests ancient or original, so it would suggest it's an older style.

<edit> I had a look on the erdinger website they say
ERDINGER Urweisse - von guter altbayrischer Art

That means it's brewed to the good "old bavarian" style.
