I had hoped to get in there myself...

I've been in an experimental mood. I just mixed Brooklyn Brown Ale with Goose Island IPA. Not bad, but I was hoping for something amazing. I think the hops are clashing a bit.

Westmalle Dubbel and/or Rochefort 8 to follow.

brought my little lad for a "walk" while at a birthday party on Capel Street on tuesday, and ended up in the drinkstore, found the place less stocked than redmonds, but with a much nicer atmosphere!
Bought Full Malty, Summer lightning(wanted to see what the big deal was about!), 2 Sierra Nevada pale ales & a hop wallop. all disappeared tonight, and the last two were the best by a country mile!!

I have had a few lovely beers at home of late

Shared a bottle of La Trappe Blonde with a friend one night - a really lovely beer - great value at 5.19 from Bradleys!

Had Meantime London Stout and O'Hara's Stout - both of which were really very nice - great off the shelf.

Well's Bombardier Burning Gold - way better than I thought it would be - a lovely citrussy taste.

Sharps Single Brew Reserve 2008 - bit diappointed with this one - an o.k. ale but for a single brew reserve I thuoght it would be better.


Great selection of beers available of late.

Tonight I had some Coopers Pale Ale, Sparkling ale and some Thatchers cox's cider. The cider is on offer in the local offie at €5 for 3 bottles and it's delicious stuff. I'm culturing the yeast from these Coopers bottles too to put to use on the next kits I've ordered win-win.
