Had some Shepard's Neame Old Red last night, €2 a bottle in Lidl at the moment, very nice stuff indeed. Paired it with a currywurst though, which was an excellent example of how not to pair food and beer. Woulda been far better off with a tasteless lager and then keep the Old Red for later, but sure we live and learn. Luckily I had half the pint drank by the time I started on the currywurst, so not all bad <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="

Also had a pint of Wrasslers XXXX in the Porterhouse on Nassau Street today - not bad, but I think a little too bitter for my tastes really. I also only realised after I'd ordered that they had Young's double chocolate stout, which was annoying as I've been wanting another bottle of that since I had it in the B&C (who were all out when I went back to try it again <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt="
