I'm just popping by to thank you all for your contribution. Already we've got a lot to think about from your responses.

I won't offer any preferences at this point to prevent biasing the poll.

Good point Saruman.
A lot of breweries in Ireland use a place name or a second name as their name. You could be the guys who have a different name altogether.
The theme idea is a good one. A lot of breweries in the UK do that as Saruman pointed. It helps with the branding and image if people know that those guys always have a cat related name or whatever.

i tend to agree with saruman on this re. a philosophy behind the venture but maybe not a theme . i know brewdog is everyones favourite example (and its hard to get away from it)or stone but even something like galway hooker is to my mind a million times better than for example galway brew co.
how you see the brewery being marketed might be a good place to start?

I was thinking along the cat line for a bit too, the only thing that springs to mind would be something like The Cats Pyjamas Brewery, where you could have the same cat wearing different pyjamas on the label - like the LaChouffe gnome has different clothes on different beers.

First of all: massive congratulations!

If I were to vote for the options available, I'd say "Trouble Brewing", otherwise "Black Pool Brewing Company" or just "The Black Pool" if you're really against "Brewing Company" in the name...

A Pint of Plain "black stuff" from the "Black Pool Brewing Company", located in the city that's known for the "black stuff".... (although you would probalby want to avoid using the term "black stuff" to avoid the wrath of Diago and Co...
