Welcome dave. Check the calendar. Next month is the homebrew expo at the Franciscan well. Since you seem to live in Cork it is perfect to learn the skills you will need.

Cheers lads.

I went to the Home Brew expo in the Well a few years ago. There were some really interesting beers there.

Unfortunately I have to fly to Munich from Dublin the next day so I think my plan to go this year is botched.

Hi folks, I'm Gar. I'm new to the game... and looking forward to getting to know a few of you and exchanging some ideas and tips.

Just got my first kit brew in progress... a munton's nut brown ale.
Next up a munton's continental lager.
Looking forward to some tasty beers during the summer.

Any tips for the above welcome.

Time... ignore the instructions. Don't bottle after 5-7 days. Leave it closer to two weeks.

Read the brewing knowledge on kits[/url:2v4btqfc] and use those instructions instead of what came with your kits and you will not go wrong.

Hello all,

I'm Mo. Basically during college me and a mate of mine Gav really got into our beers and started pushing each other to try new beers.

So now a couple of years on I am now brewing my own beer. So far I have made plenty of coopers kits and now I'm looking into all grain brewing. That's how I ended up here.

I'm living in an apartment in Dublin so space is an issue. I was looking into a method called a mini mash and I think it might be a good method for me to try. I will be doing a bit more research though to find something that suits. Any ideas?

Anyway I will look around the site in more detail later.
Cheers

Hi I'm Pete and live in Dublin.
I'm glad new breweries are starting up in Ireland which have a chance to offer new and different styles of beer. Ireland is world renowned for brewing even though for many years the dominant breweries were really the only products available. It's good this is changing and hopefully there'll be more employment opportunities and tourism income as a result.

As for me I'm a complete novice to brewing but hope to improve my skills. My aim is to produce a delicious amber ale that anyone can enjoy.
