Dead Pony Club from Brewdog is 3.8% and is hopped as heavily as 5AM Saint etc. No Irish brewer hops to that level. It might sell more than something like the 9.2% Hardcore IPA which Brewdog only sell by the half pint. Hardcore is what I'd call a DIPA.

I think you'll find most of them are- I've had one-offs from Metalman, Franciscan Wells, White Gypsy, O'Hara's and Dungarvan- Oh, and 8 Degrees. And I have seriously fond memories of Porterhouse's Ginger Weiss.
Actually, that's my vote for the new brew- A ginger weiss.

Oh yes, I'm well aware of that. Breweyed's Vanilla Amber and Troubles Spelt Saison are two of the finest experimental one off beers I've ever had.
In fact, I think most (if not all) the irish micros are experimenting to some degree.
I find the 'ask and you shall receive' technique interesting and not something I've seen before from any of the micros.
