Academic it may be and legal it is. the O'Hara family are very much entitled to do what,s best for them and I would wish them well whatever they do,but government make law. The excuse that is trotted out so many times,on so many subjects (its not legal) more often is a copout. This is the sort of thing that wiped out the sugar industry and now we buy German sugar. The last government was so immoral that they where only interested in "sexy jobs",all work is honourable,a farmer growing sugar beet,a person in a sugar factory producing it into sugar,they are honest jobs,as honest as a job in Google.
The french or Italians take this with a pinch of salt i.e. if its good for France or Italy, then we will implement it,Irish officials,not wanting to be unliked by their European colleagues would implement policy and to hell with who it hurts.
Sorry for the rant but when I see the natural gas in the west just given away,and experts tell us it value would pay for 10 anglo bank bailouts I despair.
