There's plenty of "not quite legal" brewing sales going on these days. (Including the guy who was selling home brewed beer at the market at Marlay park for a while...)

Red Biddy did have bog myrtle, quite a lot of it (compared to some "specialist" ingredients) - picked just a mile away from the brewery. You need to remove some of the seasonality for consistency alright, but this is easily done by drying or freezing - also saves a trip to the bog twice a week.....

Had a chat with Gordon yesterday at the Belfast Beer Festival. He was being followed by a BBC film crew who are making a documentary about the set-up of his brewery. He's still in the early stages of getting his kit together at the moment.

I met the guy who runs the brewkit at Loughry as well. I hadn't realised that promoting brewing as a business and helping people set up breweries is their actual job, not just a happy side-effect of the kit being there. We should be seeing more and more NI breweries as a result.

What with the "Lets shoot this ecconomy in the foot with a howitzer" attitude to the propossed VAT increase then its clear NI is the way to go ( to get your beer and everything else )

depressing or what?

The INTL banking overlords who now own the country have said it must be so.

-At least we don't have to buy a stamp and mail our tax money to Germany...
