Staff with an attitude like that have no place working in a brewpub. They are representing the business and evidently doing a very bad job of it.

Well, I was in last Friday, not realising Hilden was still on, and had a lovely pint of it. It took a wee while to serve, but there was no attitude or unpleasantness, even though the bar was busy. Luck of the draw, I guess.

I have never had bad service there myself but I do not think I have had the pleasure of the same person. I assume we are talking about a certain brewpub near the Czech inn?

I've personally never had great service there, the menu's are a joke and the staff have no knowledge of beer what so ever, I'm not remotely surprised at hearing this and that's why I go to the B&C now

The only thing I will really say is that, I've quite a nuetral accent, I speak clearly and I make an effort to prenounce everything the correct way, in their I always have to repeat myself time and time again, sometimes show them where in the fridge a beer might be if I'm getting bottles.
I was in during the little festival, asked for a Hilden, the barperson had no idea what it was, I got a little leaflet thing pointed it out to her, she pottered about came back to me said they didn't have it (not her fault of course) asked for another...same again (not her fault again of course) finally got 2 pints of Clothworthy Dobbin - so still a happy camper of course.

But it does back up the point that there a clear failure of management and organisation.
Where I haven't met anyone there who's fully rude or lacking in the ability to use a tap, it's pretty obvious that those who run the place think staffing the place ends with hiring people.
