Finally got a chance to try this. Brewed it over 3 weeks ago, so 2 weeks fermenting and 1 week in the bottle. Really chuffed with myself. It was my first ever brew so wasn't sure how it would turn out.

Had 3 bottles, 2 on the Friday and 1 last night. First bottle was lovely but I left a small bit of beer (about 50ml)in the bottle because I didn't want all the settled yeast and stuff in the glass. I was really pleased with the results, as was the other half. She refused to taste it at first because I let her taste the the cooled down Wort and she nearly barfed! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

But for the second one I poured everything into the glass and the beer didn't taste as nice. So I reverted to my initial procedure for the 3rd and it was definitely the nicest of the 3, probably because it had longer time in the bottle.
I have about 4 more bottles to get through!

Definitely a beer I'd try again but I'd probably cut the quantity of Coriander next time as I thought it was a little over powering.

Had another couple of this last night and WOW!

It was amazing. The initial strong flavours had mellowed and it just tasted so smooth. It's definitely a beer I'll make again. Still prefer it without pouring the complete contents into the glass though, i.e. the yeast at the bottom of the bottle. It just adds a strong dry feeling on the aul tastes buds.

Is it always the case that a beer needs at least 2 weeks in the bottle, so 4 weeks in total to come good?

I always try to leave it for two weeks conditioning (but do try after a week for quality control purposes <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->) but some beers benefit from longer. For example, very highlöy hopped beers mellow and blend flavours a bit if left for a few more weeks, and really big beers (like my barley wine at 10.5% and 105 IBUs) I am trying to leave for a year. Although I did have a bottle after 7 months, and it was lovely <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

In general though, yeah, for most beers good to go after 2 weeks in the bottle. Thankfully! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
