I'm just ordering those LME light cans. They should be here in time for Santa to deliver them.

Specs are as follows:
- origin Northern Europe
- 100% malt extract (no barley syrup)
- dry matter (refractometer) 76% to 80%
- colour 7 to 15 EBC
- pH 4.8 to 5.5
I've compared with others, and these numbers seem to fall well within the norm.

RRP will be less than Euro 7.00 for 1.5 Kg cans, probably 6.95 or thereabouts. We might even be able to do an extract brewers 3.0 Kg special?

I'd really appreciate your comments. We figure it will be perfect for extract brewers, or as an adjunct for the 1.0 to 1.8 Kg kits?

Anything else we should be looking at?

Any news yet on a date this will be in?

No firm date, they have to manufacture the cans for us. They say they will be here in time for Christmas, probably 1st week December.

Something like this with some hops, a bit of grain for soaking and a pack of yeast would make a very affordable extract beer pack - if you can market it in the 20-30 ballpark then you're competing with the 'normal' kit beers and offering the chance for newer brewers to cut their teeth in extract.

An excellent suggestion. Consider it in progress. Now, all we need are the recipes so that we can put packs together. We will use Brouwland aluminium vac packed hops and pellets, and their uncrushed grains. Hmmm, a potential down side might be that you would need a mill to crush the grain . . . .
