Good man. I actually have some whole grain Gordon gave me about 2 years ago in cork. Maybe only a year ago, I can't remember. I was meant to try roasting it but I have so much roast grain I have not needed to try yet.

That'd be great Mark, small bit would do the job.

8mm bolt fits into the drive shaft of the mill.
I ended up cutting the head off the bolt all together, 8mm threaded bar would be ideal, 60-70mm is all you need.
Drill will hold this no problem.

Tried to square off the head of the bolt 1st

Decided I didnt need a head to get a hold of, bolt in the mill

Drill in place, the dust in front of the mill is some crushed grain I ran through it to see what would happen.
Beware it went everywhere, will test with whole grain next week, but I think another modification may be called for to collect crushed grain

Mine didn't arrive yet

Spud did you try a variable speed drill? The slower speed might allow more control over the output. I was thinking the highest torque setting on my old 14.4v drill would do it.

You could also make a chute from a grain bag to guide all the crush into a container and keep dust down like you see in old flour mills. Just don't blow up the shed with all the dust in the air

It's a variable speed Derek. I didnt bother trying much to be honest, I only had crushed grain and I'm sure the results will be different with whole grain anyway.

I have a few other ideas to fine tune the whole thing but it'll be next week before I get back to it.
