The Celli stuff is pub grade, so we know it will last.[/quote]

I agree with you Tube. Id rather have a more expensive tap thats top notch than a cheapo rip off.

I think there is quality coming out of China - the only problem is guaranteeing it. I agreee especially with mechanical stuff you need to be careful - its different if you're just getting pots or something, its hard to go wrong.

The other point I'm trying to make is - depending on where you buy it from, you could be getting the chinese stuff either way - except with a premium added.

Anyway, I'd go for 2 if they were €25 region. Reason being: I have 3 different types of tap on my serving box. One of them is this style, would be nice to have them all matching.

I'd prefer the European quality - and it would be easier to get replacements if anything goes wrong - especially if there is a rep in Ireland. If you have a problem with the Chinese stuff - its a long way to send for a replacement tap. There will probably be no follow up customer service included.

How much are the stout taps (the Celtic SS model)? I assume that these come complete with the creaming plate and the plastic flow gizmo thing inside?

For consistency I would like to have all the same type of tap on the outside of my fridge. Is it easy to simply remove the creaming plate and the plastic piece and then use the stout tap to pour other non-stout types?
This would be great as you would then not need to worry about having different types of taps - one tap to serve them all!

Has anybody actually tried this?

My understanding is that the stout taps are different, that it's not just the restrictor and nozzle.

The Mybeerandwine.ie tap is not a celli fc2 tap, I asked. It does come with the 90° shank though.
Avoid cateringparts.ie they want €85.77 for a single FC2 tap which I think is a bit much. as is S/STEEL TAP FC4 WITH COMPENSATOR @€199.06 I could have 5 chinajob Mybeerandwine.ie taps for that. their plastic version is €97, plastic tap!€557 for 5kg c02, €200 a drip tray, Ill stop now. they do have hell of a lot of parts just damm markup

I say go china routh as most of whats sold here is china anyway and parts for the real stuff probably costs price of the entire clone.

Full kegerater kit I would have interest in as well as going the kegerater roth or keezer depending on what I can lay my hand on and fits in my shed.

Crazy prices! That must be a mistake as it's possible to get the same tap elsewhere in Dublin for approx a quarter the price.

The Celli taps are Italian-made. Not that I'd normally recommend that. Pity the Japs don't make beer taps
