Plastic Casks in Ireland 14 years 8 months ago #25

Wow, this thread is hard to follow - two conversations going on at once.

Anyway, Adam, the Brewery Plastics pins are three-part but are very solid, and I'm guessing at home you won't be dropping them down a cellar, so I wouldn't have any concern with that.

Barley Bottom (www.barleybottom.com) used to supply these, but I don't see it listed on their website, so they might be worth a call. If so, he'll be able to sort you out wth shives, keystones, spiles etc.

Can we not create a "Files" area on the site to upload usefull files such as this one and I'm sure a lot of other useful struff to contribute to our knowledge base. For eaxample could we not allow .doc, .xls, .pdf ??

Other groups allow this ( as the posts are strictly moderated ), why can't we?

Also other sites allow photos

Cheers

Will

Also other sites allow photos[/quote:1rg1mpqp]The reason we stopped hosting pictures (as people who've been around long enough may remember) was because it was slowing the site backup down too much. Again, free alternatives like Photobucket are out there: you're better off using them.

Thanks for the info. I thought these were the single piece plastic ones (now I don't know where the single piece plastic ones were...).

The thread did take a confusing turn there; plastic casks to wooden casks to the reasons why wood is not an alternative to plastic or stainless casks and back again.
