My last order for supplies went to England, I paid £18 shipping and it still worked out considerably cheaper than I could get it in Ireland.
In fact it would still be cheaper even with the free shipping <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

I can supply the details if you like[/quote:25mh4u8c]
Thats very surprising. We are cheaper here in Ireland on most beer kits, brewing sugars, spraymalt, LME and lots of other items. So, yes I'd love to see the details.

We are waiting on new supplies of grains and hops, probably a month or so away. Its an area of the market we haven't focused on. THBC seem to be doing a good job, and when we do something in this area it will be complementary as opposed to aggressive competition.

We are not sure that Ireland is big enough to support too many all grain suppliers, they do expire and we dont want to ruin the market for everybody.

Also we believe in specialization so that there is room in the market for all of us.

The problem is that with a lack of competition, this is the area of the market where prices have not dropped, and I believe that this is where Spud made his large savings. If no one competes on this front then the UK will possibly remain the cheaper option for grain orders.

Check out his hop and grain prices

I ordered 16.5 kg of different grains, 5 different varities of hops and a few packets of yeast.

The order was as follows
10 1/2 kg MO
2 1/2 kg lager malt
2 1/2 kg wheat malt
500g crystal
500g roast barley
500g flaked barley

Hops
Target
Challenger
East kent goldings
Hallertauer hersbruker
Sazz

1 pack of S04
1 WB 06

I think you will find it's remarkably cheaper than your own site.

I'm not meaning to bash and think the free post is great.
In fact all my supplies up to that point had been bought from your shop.
But I think a lot still need to be done on the price of grain/hops and flexability of amounts.
He weighed out grain in any multiple of 500g and crushed on the day of dispatch.

For example at todays exchange rate i can get 500g of hops from Rob delivered for E19.02, where as from your site the same quantity is costing E42.95.

You're dead right EoinMag, must a been posting at the same time

Hmm,
Agreed. We have a new supplier of grains and hops coming on stream soon. I guess we will have to wait and see the details.

Not sure how to do quotes on this forum? but that site themaltmiller.co.uk is cracking value and crushed on the day... Could nearly buy it from that sie and sell it in the shop and make money!!!

Sure the Irish market is at the mercy of the exchange rate as well, majority comes in from the UK..

I think he said on another thread that he's looking for an Irish distributor. Obivously as a distributor you would pay less again.
