I think a small minimum order value for free shipping is fair to both consumers and suppliers alike. We may not make any money on these orders, but at least we wont be losing too much either.[/quote:2g0gjpan]
I don't know how anybody can do that, I know a bargain is a bargain but you don't want to take the p1ss either. Even when I took advantage of Donal's €1 offer I still bought something else. Granted it was something small but it was something I actually needed and thought fair's fair.

I was just saying to one of the lads last night that ye were going to end up pricing each other out of the market.

Now, I'm not saying that suppliers shouldn't stop reducing their prices........... so when are you going to start €1 specials like Donal? <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Depends on how much you’re paying for the courier! Courier prices have halved over the past year for us with the increase in quantity. I don’t think the couriers can sustain this forever but will make the most of it in the meantime.

If people keep orders over €20 we are all making money but having said that only 4% of orders are under €20 and the average order price is €37.58 so it all works out, swings and roundabouts...

I'm no accountant (well actually I am), but they're some serious profit margins if your breaking even on a €20 order, I think I'm in the wrong line of work!!

Minimum order value to qualify for free shipping would stop people doing piddly orders, and force them to put a bit of thought in.

Also, if getting free shipping I don't expect Fastway to deliver - I'd expect whoever is cheapest - even if it's An Post (I know they're rarely cheapest unless the weight is next to nothing)
