un-malted grain is going to be a lot harder, sound like it maybe a flaker?

This will gelatin-ise the starch and probable make it easier for the cattle to digest

Which could be hand to make your own flaked barely and wheat

I'm pretty sure its a roller/grinder (though you probably know better than me). You feed barley from the top where it goes between two rollers and pops out the other side as rolled barley. As I said, its run off the PTO shaft of a tractor. Your talking about at least 250 HP driving it!!!! (of course you can control the amount of power with the tractors throttle, but I'm just trying to get across the point that its a fair bit of machinery) I've never paid it much mind (its usually the job I do before I head home/to the pub), but I think I'll give it a closer look the next time I'm there.

I just suggest a flaker as you say the gain looked more like muslei

Can I suggest a new thread to discuss mills, pasta makers, farm machinery, etc. to crush grain? It'll be of future interest and will be easier for other people to find that way.

Someone do it <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Well, I'll be damned! One of our competitors has reduced their pricing on some of our products to match our pricing. Painful for them, but GREAT for home brewers!

So who says competition is bad?

So, like Tesco in Galway who just reduced their pricing by 22%, why didn't they do it years ago?

Interestingly, for products we don't stock, well . . .
