Nothing worse than those soft plastic "Glasses"... I'm getting upset just thinking about them...

On a plus side (the only one) the last beer you had wont be tainting the new beer when you're too lazy to wash the glass!!

Look's like a few of us are going on the Thursday (pre-charging time). So a Beoir posse will be in effect.

Except maybe genocide, that's probably worse.

Who are H&S and does the €10 entry fee still stand?[/quote:ntdptbe6]

Well, they used to be called Fascists but now they are known as Health and Safety.

I did ask the organisers if the price had gone down because I've had to change the website to remove all references to a 'souvenir glass'.[/quote:ntdptbe6]

As a H&S professional I get pissed off being referred to as a fascist. Who insisted on plastic? HSA or the H&S advisors? A lot of the fun in this country is cancelled out by our propensity to sue each other for the most trivial of reasons. Plastic glasses or a huge payout to some member of the public who nicks their finger while pissed? No brainer.

Genuine question, not having a go, but why is there a distinction between an event like this and a regular pub using glass?

Marchfest- 15th to the 19th March. 14 years 1 month ago #90

A number of reasons

Pubs are usually a more controlled environment than an out door festival.

Pubs are run by professional (mostly) publicans not brewers

Outdoor events will attract a much more diverse crowd including families, the risk just multiplys

This is an exercise in arse covering and cost control. One can't admit that to the public so one blames H&S or the Fascists as we are referred to. I would like to see the risk assessment that recommended the use of plastic, who performed it and their credentials.
