Hey Guys, Glad everyone enjoyed it, I got loads from it myself - well worth doing it !
Yeah the peppery porter & grainy ale were probably the most distinctive of the day

Third Saturday of each month sounds good to me, that'd make the next one the 19th November, anyone have any objections ? If not I'll give Flash a heads up & go ahead and stick it in the Calender in a few days, Speaking of Flash - fair play to him ! was good to have him join in for a little while too !

Sounds good to me!

i can't see any sign of infection in the weiss. I did some research and discovered that the tcp taste could be chloramides in the water. I had a look in my brew book and there is no mention of treating the water for this brew, so I am going to count my campden tablets because there should be 3 missing if its only 2 I didn't treat this batch.

Lesson learned!

I believe a tcp taste can be related to the rinse cycle when using chlorine based cleaners, and can sometimes indicate a yeast issue, but I don't know much more detail than that!

I did use VWP to clean the keg and bleach and vinegar solution to sanitise it. It is the first time I have used this keg so there may be a place where it doesn't drain properly or I may have just been sloppy when draining it.

I used a dry yeast well inside its use by date but left it ferment at ambient temps in a west facing room which this summer didn't worry me too much about being too high.

Hey Guys, just Checkin in ! - Is everyone ok for the 19th ? Figured I better ring Flash and let him know we'll be back on that date !!!

Suits me!

I used your snap ale in a chicken & veg pie last Saturday. Mmmm tasty! I was afraid the ale might have been too strong a flavour for chicken but it wasn't, it added a fruity note. I plan on using the other bottle to make beer can chicken with Indian spices.

Take one chicken and one can of lager, pour lager down sink...you get the idea
