Not really. Most there will never have tasted these beers before and it'll be an eye-opener for them.

-Good point; I see where everyone is going now.

I do think there's even more awareness work to be done (although not at this event, obviously) to the experiences/flavors that craft beer brings to the table and specifically Irish Craft Beer, obviously for those who are not convinced about beer as a drinks category. There is a LARGE group of consumers who have come to the conclusion that they "don't like beer" based upon a few similar macros and who have put beer into a teeny tiny box that it doesn't fit in. Focusing on the huge array of flavors is a great way to open up the conversation to this market; definitely agree with all points that this conversation shouldn't be focused on beer styles, and definitely shouldn't put down beers or other drinks that people already enjoy; also agree that this is the wrong thread for it, so I'll resurrect it in one of the Beoir Member threads in the future.

-Just want to make sure that we don't confuse the issue of exactly how to address the issue/ when /where to address it vs. whether to address it at all.

It'd be easier if more of our breweries made stronger, more food-friendly, beers though *cough*hint*cough*.
