[quote:2sdfs8lu]Firstly its great to see the HBC in Cork again. But is it not a bit elitist to prevent new suppliers from attending ? Im sure they would not be in the same league as shane for stock range / price or brewing advice. But If its a bricks and mortar shop that has the basics isnt better than another mobile phone shop or bookies ?[/quote:2sdfs8lu]

Did Shane even ask for this? sounds to me like it's just cause he's part of the click.

I think NaturalChoice just wants to be able to hand out leaflets which is not the same as selling their products at the event.

Personally I do not see any reason why this should not be allowed. I would in fact see it as a negative if it is the case.

Don't want to detract from Shane's business if he's coming all the way down. But seems a bit harsh not letting them hand out some fliers? (I understand why a stand would be a problem though, after 'securing' the HBC)

It'd be nice to have a bricks'n'mortar shop in Cork. All the 'serious' brewers will still be buying from Shane because of his range and dependability. His range and service is really good, so he shouldn't be threatened by a HF shop selling kits. After all, they'll introduce more people to homebrewing, which in turn will result in more people seeking the next step up(extract etc), offered by a store like the HBC.

I'd be hoping they'll come long and learn from Shane ( and maybe even use him as a supplier , don't know who's supplying them at the moment )

It's not a clique thing really , more to do with the practicalities.

Personally I wouldn't begrudge them flyers at all

This is the main reason and most definitely not a clique thingy. Nothing whatever stopping them coming to see what's happening on the day - in fact they are most welcome

i was going to avoid this ur brew left us down badly. we gave the local supplier first option. Last thursday I was in a desperate situation with no supplier. ur brew were offered a free stand. Shane rescued the event. last thursday it was looking bad, I discussed this with Ger c and wallace. It was felt with shane agreeing at short notice he will have an exclusive. No problem with local suppliers, being in bussiness myself if you do not look after your customers or potential customers you cannot expect to be looked after.it was like begging someone to come along. Next year we will require donations to icb main site to have a stand.

so sorry to cork suppliers but loyality to shane has to come first
