The Porterhouse Irish Beer and Whiskey Festival 2010. 16 years 1 month ago #1

The Porterhouse Brewing Company is presenting the 7th annual festival celebrating Irish Beer and Whiskey, starting this Thursday, the 25th of March and running for 10 days.

As part of the festival, all of the beers will be tasted blind by a panel of judges and the best Stout, Ale, Lager and Speciality beer will be selected, as will an overall winner. I am pleased to say that for the second year, Bog_Myrtle and I will be part of the judging panel.

The line-up looks like this at them moment, but I am informed that there may be additional bottled beers featured too.

The Porterhouse Brewing Co. has entered one stout, Wrasslers 4X, one ale, An Brain Blasta, one lager, Hersbrucker and one speciality beer, Chocolate Truffle Stout into the competition.

White Gypsy Brewery has entered two lagers, Bruinette and Amber and one ale, Emerald.

Hilden Brewing Co. has entered one lager, Belfast Blonde, one ale, Hilden Ale, and one speciality beer, Mollys Chocolate truffle stout.

Galway Hooker has entered one ale, Galway Hooker Pale Ale, and one speciality beer, Galway Hooker Dark Wheat Beer

Carlow Brewing Co. has entered one ale, O'Hara's Irish Pale Ale, and one speciality, O'Hara's Easter Stout.

Whitewater Brewery has entered one ale, Copperhead and one stout, Belfast Black.

Franciscan Wells Brewery has entered three ales into the competition, Golden Otter, 3 Kings Celebration ale, and Rebel Red.

Why not join in the festivities and sample some of these beers in any of the four Irish Porterhouse pubs or indeed the London one.

Lotsa new stuff there. The awards list will need some substantial last-minute editing <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Funny, I'd have put 3 Kings in the "speciality" category. More speciality than a dunkelweiss I'd have thought.
