Good price for the Ohara, the hop head was beautiful!!

great day for it, all the stalls were very good, very friendly too, helpful with questions too, except for the LL cider crowd i thought! But 1 out of a dozen or so aint bad!! The lads off here in the ICB area were very good too! Very helpful thanks!

Can anyone tell me if there is any parking near Farmleigh House, as in can I get relatively close, cos my wife is over 3 weeks from baby due date, so need to get kinda near. Or is it difficult to get there from Hueston Station by bus? Looking forward to heading into it tomorrow, tks.

there is parking but I would recommend getting there early in the day. Car park was about 50% full at 12.30 today.

Just back from Septemberfest. An undoubted success for the microbreweries for which I'm thankful.

But there's a but!

I got there at half four today (Sat). As I was driving I just wanted to get a few bottles from each brewery to sample at home. The queues for each brewery were far too long, it looked to me to be about a half hour queue for each of the bars. So if I wanted bottles from 4 breweries I would possibly be queueing for 2 hours. So I left empty-handed unfortunately.

As an aside to that I think the venue isn't suitable for this type of event as unless you're driving it's awkward to get to on public transport. Somewhere in the city centre would be better.

I was really looking forward to this, maybe if I'd arrived earlier the queues might have been smaller. It looked like a great day's entertainment though, the sun was shining, the band was playing...but I couldn't get any beer <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

Just my thoughts.

it is accessible by public transport! you can either get a 37 bus to the castleknock gates or get to parkgate street and get the phoenix park shuttle bus to farmleigh, the former does involve a bit of a walk

Up to an hour wait for beer actually and from our point of view, once the queue stretched in front of us, we got very little traffic except the casual talks with people in the queue but they could not leave and take a look and have a proper talk.

Still a good day.. Next year, bring some camping seats as my feet are killing me.
