I'm really sorry I missed it, though the beer hall itself looked a little bleak.

I thought so too when we first arrived, but really the atmosphere was very nice as others arrived, and it was all very friendly and fun. Of course a table of ICBers and friends couldn't be any other way! We had the craic.

I had higher expectations for the beer though, so was a bit disappointed that cask beer wasn't the nectar that I had been led to believe, with some notable exceptions

I mentioned to you in the B&C that I am similarly disappointed by much of the cask I have had at festivals. It is much better in pubs, I find. I can't yet decide if it is going to stop me attending cask festivals.

Notebooks? Lists? A couple of beards (bit short though) Scotch eggs? Have you lot joined CAMRA? <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Actually, we brought the water ourselves, a late purchase at Connolly for me and n1mbus at least. We remarked that there was no water supply at the festival (unless you count the chipper juggernaut outside). There wasn't even rinsing of glasses unless you were really pushy (I asked once but was either not heard or was ignored).

Even though I thought[/url:1os5ldus]the beer wasn't as good as I expected, I'd go again for the craic.
