I'll be there from about 1pm or so... look out for me (shortish, barely any hair, glasses) with my buddy (big and bulky, hair, no glasses !!)

Just a quick run down of the brews i had today...

My top three -

1. Old Bear Bruin - tons of flavour for only 3.5%. I could have happily drunk this all day... (don't expect a Belgian Bruin though)
2. Sarah Hughes - Hugely quaffable dark mild. Lives up to the hype...
3. Wickwar Station Porter - excellent full flavoured porter..

Underwhelming (in no order) -

Houston Warlock Stout - Rich, Strong and smooth... i don't thick so..
Dark Star Hophead - Very bland and washed out.. avoid
Whitewater Nut Brown - A bit of a let down. I was expecting a rich full bodied nutty ale.. i didn't get it...

Enjoy...

Well, that was a rather long day yesterday. I have to find out who's going to write a little account of the event for us now. Volunteers can pop a mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. I was expecting a lot more out of the Sarah Hughe's, so maybe that's why I was a little disappointed with it. In fact, I was underwhelmed with most of the beers I had with the exception of some real highlights like the RCH Old Slug Porter, the Eclipse Porter and Mayfields Auntie Myrtle's (although we were careful not to bring it too close to Bog Myrtle in case they cancelled each other out).

Here are my photos from the day[/url:36upxkpb]. Only got around to sorting them out now!

No article I'm afraid. But lots of blog entries from members. I suppose that'll do.

Man that looked like an action packed day with some form of alcoholic beverage in every shot. How much did you lot drink and when did it end?

I think my count at the festival was 17 (well, 14 generous half pints and three mouthfuls from someone elses glass!), then a pint of Guinness and a few mouthfuls of bottled Smithwicks in Portadown, then a Hooker in the B&C. I was remarkably fit thanks to the lovely burger and chips and TBNs delicious cheese and onion cheese. Or is that cheese with onion. Ah, there's a photo of it there...

Others were not so fit

The stuff in the plastic bottle was Skullsplitter, as I just had to try some. I funneled into the bottle and got a quick cask Clotworthy just before we had to run for the train. Sticky stuff that Skullsplitter...
