I appreciate that, but just seeing them on the list is a bit galling.

I have to say I dislike seeing those brands there too, but I look forward to the warm glow of schadenfreude when they fail to appear among the winners.

I haven't tried that; is it a Schneider beer?

If for example MM Imperial stout wins overall it is the best beer and stout in Ireland. No need to give two awards.A lager is unlikely to win but something like Porterhouses Herbsbrucker get best lager and only finishes 10th, it is still better than H or other macro rubbish. get the ordinary punter drinking the best craft lager.

But on the other hand I would have [i:22dxpcp6]real[/i:22dxpcp6] trouble trying to meaningfully arrange even a top three of the lagers in that list. Plus, not all categories are equal. You'd have to ignore the wheatbeers, and I'd rather be encouraging brewers to make these rather than lager.

Point taken that not all categories are equal, could give best wheat beer as well. Ale has everthing from Irish red,APA,Kolsch included
