I used to see the Nigerian FES in off licenses but I haven't seen it in ages now. I really like it.

The Jamaican FES we got in Jamaica and brought back some for the Beer Nut. In the Caribbean you can also get Dragon stout and Mackeson's stout. They're all pretty sweet.

Here's The Beer Nut's article[/url:3fcxt9hl] about them all.

the Nigerian stuff in Decency is very dear...about €8 for a 66cl bottle. Its a restaurant though so thats why its so expensive (not that I agree with it)

Last time I was in Scotland there I stocked up well with a few stouts in an off-licence....

Dark Island was beautiful. There's a kinda biscuit taste to it in there somewhere. I was able to find a pub in Edinburgh that had it on cask. The Brooklyn black Chocolate Stout I think is too strong. I can't help wondering what it'd be like at maybe 7% or 6%. I wasn't able to finish the bottle conditioned porter <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt="" title="Embarassed" /><!-- s:oops: --> Such an intense flavour to it I struggled.

After trying N0gne's Imperial Stout again in Barcelona I have to add it to my short list of favorite Imperial Stouts.

It and Great Divide Yeti are long-lost brothers for sure.

I like my stouts strong, sweet, smooth, and preferably oak-aged and N0gne is now definitely my favorite Imperial Stout from Europe and vying for my favorite over all. (Which is saying a lot as RIS/IS is my favorite style.)

-I've tried the "Albert Le Coq" supposedly "historically accurate" RIS (9% ABV) and I have to say that RIS has gotten better over the years in my book...

No point starting a new thread...

so... what the hell is "Mid-Strength Guinness" ?!
I had it in a pub tonight in Templogue. A pub I might add that had them feckin' awful "pour your own pint" things....

Guinness with around 3% alcohol. Calling it "Lite" was no-no.

This is the sort of innovation you get from 250 years of brewing tradition.
