Messrs Maguire: the revamp 15 years 5 months ago #1

It looks like the long-awaited re-launch of Messrs Maguire is kicking off. There's a new website[/url:1ahy57ux] which actually tells you stuff about the beer and they say they'll be opening the basement[/url:1ahy57ux] again and running tastings and the like. All very promising.

Oh and they're on Facebook[/url:1ahy57ux] and Twitter[/url:1ahy57ux] too.

Love Messrs, the Bock, Munich & Rusty are all great beers!
(the extra stout is an acquired taste, but well worth the punt if you fancy something different)
The place can be just be way too quiet sometimes!!

No mention of a stout on the website; slightly worrying.

Well impressed with the new downstairs bar. There's nothing new from the brewkit yet, but last night there was an APA Melissa brewed at White Gypsy, plus a cask blonde ale which Cuilán made using his own hops. They also have a great range of interesting imports, from Malheur in Belgium and Ocean[/url:2rxvenb5] in Sweden.

Had a great night last night and am looking forward to visiting again.

Got an impromptu tour of the brewery after the almost everyone left to get a bus. They have a capacity of about 1800 litres per batch, which is more than I thought the kit was capable of.

Had a taste of the brown ale that's on the way (conditioning at the moment). It's quite roasty, more of a mild stout than a brown, but very tasty.

We had been hoping for a tour but I could not wait any longer. Would be great if I lived in Dublin and did not have to drive the next day <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
