I could go with that plan, sounds like a good plan. From what I remember when I started drinking Guinness around the age of 18/19-ish was that the Guinness drinkers had somehow "progressed" on from the Millers, Buds and Stellas and the one or two Guinness drinkers at the party were the connoisseurs. That was my late teen drinking experience anyway. Drinking Guinness was seen to be branching out from drinking the yellow pissy fizz.

The Abbots has fridges outside the counter where you pick your own bottles and take them out. If you are very nice to the bar staff they will also bring up a particular bottle from the off licence downstairs for you and will sell it to you obviously with a mark up for drinking on the premises. Great selection of glasses also in the bar.
