Though the porter is more than good, it's great. Probably the nicest porter I've had. There's this taste which I think is from smoked malt that a lot of old style beers have. I usually find it over powering but in this porter it's just a hint of it and it's perfect. It's also not over carbonated.

Most pubs if they had a beer that good they'd be shouting about it. It's sad to see the beer not getting the respect it deserves.

I must agree. it is without doubt a superb beer. it was in bottles at one stage too. great move. they should consider a full time bottling of it. it could do very well.....certainly in my house.

Do they still brew a smoked beer?

He did it a couple of times, though the pub hated selling it. Well, hated it more than they hate selling the other MM beers. It's never been a regular, unfortunately.

Shame. They dont promote their beers enough and unfortunately smoked is the only one I never tried..At least they have extra stout
