The report will make mention of the submissions received at the relevant parts. It's done quite fully in the broadcasting one[/url:2sl61z5v], where each section summarises the responses and then deliberates on them, making a recommendation. Most of these tend to include scans of the original submissions at the back as well.

yeah we know that but do these guys.....if its in a wine size bottle i think they would love it and maybe help us out!
of course most of what i say must be taken with a pill of humour!
i am a civil servant and can truthfully say how we got to this stage of prosperity is a bleeding miracle! if something comes out of this indepth study that is not kneejerk maybe we are heading in the right direction. but we must speak up and be heard and if that involves sending a copy of the letter to the Irish Times and maybe going on radio, well prepared, it should be done. we may be a minority as most people are too lazy to do anything and would comfortably have their rights and freedoms slowly taken from them before even noticing it.

Nice work - a very concise and to-the-point submission.

As I understand how reports work, all submissions are included and cited, not challenged or argued. The compilers of the report than make their judgement and suggest their findings.

Unfortunately, many reports decide their findings first and use the submissions to justify their findings. Or maybe that only happens where I work!!

You're going to tell us now that your contract forbids you from lobbying in any shape or form, in any and all media, in perpetuity, right? <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

well i could come up with a nice pseudo name such as hidrink Freely or crafty beerman and go on the radio or write to the times. maybe the later would be less embarrassing! my lady works with the comsumer association of ireland and they are regularly represented on newstalk . the researcher is in touch in the days before an interview and pretty much gives you an idea of what is going to be asked (if not the actual questions)and how you would like the conversation steered. it could be done but maybe we need to look towards other larger bodies to have a similar stand point and strike up a correspondance with them....they would be well prepaired by their pr depts.

on my contract...i cant work in noisy environs for more than an hour and a half a day so i finish at lunch most days and i cant join an outside union - small price to pay!

but a letter to the times might be a good start..any nominations to do it? then we can weigh in with our beautifully scripted, well thought out comments!
