All the important points are covered and well articulated. I'd be interested to see if they challenge our interpretation of the the figures though. After all, the main thrust of their campaign comes from deriving different results from figures provided by Dr Joe Barry.

If it were the Health or Justice Joint Committees, it'd be a different story. Then we'd be picking the team to troop along to Leinster House to give the presentation <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

I don't know anything about the working of such things, but it did occur to me after I posted that we'll likely hear nothing at all from them, and we'll have no idea if we had any influence at all. I still think that our submission is necessary, and we can bring to light the existence of moderate drinkers with a keen interest in a particular craft industry.

are you sure about that...it may be closer to joe duffy!
very nicely put. could it be suggested that possibly lowering tax on the craft brewing sector in the long term would have a positive outcome on the social fabric of the country...with a cafe/bar idea we could become the france of beer! with dublins streets littered with cafe-bars instead of vomit.....sorry im drifting into fantasy here...but if the craft industry didnt see the hikes it may help some to survive this potentially difficult time ahead and keep a fragile industry from being drowned out by the big boys...fat chance i guess as we are fastly becoming the united states of ireland with killarney as our vegas.

That's why I was thinking a press release. Granted that is a step too far, but surely it should be entered into the news section of this site, to at least mark the submission.
