Cheers lads. Looking like its gonna be Edinburgh. I have me eye on a hostel that is within spitting distance of the brew dog bar

Have been in Edinburgh before but could still do with some suggestions. Bars / sights / bars

I'm sure there are lots of classic pubs, but all talk these days is of The Hanging Bat[/url:ju57yb1r].

Hanging Bat is great, was there a couple of months ago. They only serve by the 1/3 or 2/3 pint, but they do flights of beers which you can get 1 at a time which is good value.

Two things that I didn't like were - if they've done one of their meet the brewer days recently then at least half the beers will come from that brewer which can dim the variety a bit, secondly their bar staff weren't brilliant once it got busy (and it does get very busy) doing the very UK barman thing of just returning to the spot they've just served someone in.

If you're there on a Friday try to make sure you get there before 5.30-6 as it gets jammed.

Just bumping this thread in case anyone has any new info. Off next weekend. Staying about 2 mins from the brewdog bar so im happy and I know where I'll prob start and end up.

Hanging bat and 3 sisters have also been recommended but any other pubs recommendation would be great.

Cheers and God help us all.
