So now, if they really want to rig the vote they will have to join Beoir!!

What WILL you do with all the money John??

ohhh intresting
are the votes just general spam or more targeted pettern to alter the results ?

Not exactly either, but closer to the second.

I think I've got to the bottom of it, and the person responsible has apologised, but I'm leaving the restriction in place and I very much doubt we'll use the open method again.

A 7% stout and an 11% stout can't really be said to be the same recipe, can they?

BA'd Celebration at 11% would be one of my beers of 2012; regular Celebration at 7% wouldn't - that's where I, personally, draw the line.

And where would you draw the line if you were running a beer awards? The logistical difficulty is the potential for dozens of barrel-aged versions of the same beer: a nightmare to track, even harder to figure out which version someone is voting for, and a total waste of time because the split in the vote will destroy its chances of winning anything.

Whatever about changing the voter franchise this late into the process, I don't think it's fair to change the beer eligibility rules. Porterhouse Celebration stays as one beer for 2013.

When we had a similar discussion about dispense[/url:29o3lh4n] last year, I suggested you judge the beer on an average of its versions. I suggest the same thing again this year.
