By my calculations the increase on wine was about 50%

I stand to be corrected here but isn't it years since a gov of any hue increased the price of the pint? Brewers have added their now seemingly annual increase and publicans have followed suit to protect their margin. But still its always someone elses fault that the pub sector is fupped. The majority sell the same tired brands with no hope of a choice.
How does the craft pub sector do in relation to the same ole, same ole Diageo flogging sector?

For comparison, UK duty rate is £19.51 per hectolitre per cent ABV or approximately €24 per hectolitre per cent ABV. So they are still more.
