A tax on a tax. Has always annoyed me.
I guess with the financial situation and the government crusade to improve the health of the nation, we should get used to higher prices for beer.
Glass half full - more people will get into crafting beers at home; and others will look more closely at what value they're getting for their money in the bar or the offie, which might prompt a move from the 'usual' to something local, full flavoured and satisfying.
Beer excise up 10 cents a pint from midnight...

Thats it. Must keep an eye on the home brew stuff we sell in work. It is moving surprisingly well so will be interesting to see sales over the next few weeks and into the new year.
