A friend of mine was recently at a farmers market and was telling me that there was someone there selling homemade cheese and had an offer where if you bought twelve euros worth of cheese of above you got a free bottle of homemade wine.Is that even legal ? I know you can give alcohol to any one over 18.Anyhow just thought one of you would be able to tell me <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

If there's no excise duty paid on the wine then it's illegal, AFAIK.

I think the Gardai have more to occupy themselves with than the occasional bottle of homemade wine being gifted with a purchase of cheese. If you're really concerned about the effects on the drinks / farmers market sector you should report the issue.
