The interesting thing is next time you're buying your pint of Tuborg, if the publican is charging more than €1.23 a pint you can accuse him of profiteering!

Nearest pub to me sells Tuborg for €2.95 a pint. Out of curiousity, where is it brewed?

Is it actually imported from Denmark?

Alternatively it might be brewed by Carlsberg UK: Diageo also import and distribute Eve from them, again as part of their licence arrangement. But I've not seen Tuborg on draught in the UK, so brewing it here is my best guess.

I think it's BUL here by Diageo.

FYI I priced kegs of beer recently. Most craft beers, Guinness and Carlsberg etc., run around €140 to €160 for 50L (approx 88 pints).

The cheapest I found is Tuborg at €88 a keg.[/quote:25fjyjyq]

So by that rational - say a keg is 140-160

Its roughly
120
+ 27 VAT
147

The publican has is at about 1.70 a pint - of which I presume off set the VAT he paid - so now it cost him
1.40 a pint ... (roughly)

So how exactly are we getting to €4.70 ?

The Excise is missing ... but still ...
