If you like it: drink it. Now and always.

Which is what I signed up for. I did find the Beoir material at the RDS a little cringey when it temporarily deviated to an anti-multinational rant.

I could be wrong, and I don't have numbers to hand, but my understanding is that it would have to be a pretty big stroke of the pen to change anything. Are any of the micros any way close to the line at all? If they're all as far away as I believe I was once told they were (although where that was, specifically, I don't remember) then this is a conversation we don't need to be having for a long, long time (if ever).

Last I heard Carlow and Porterhouse were both around the 10k mark. So yes: a long way to go to the line, and even further to make crossing the line economical.

More rumour here than anything else, as I didn't ask Carlow, but last I was told was they were in the region of 13k.
A couple of big contracts and whaddya know.
Does anyone remember the Y2K bug? "Ah that's so far away we don't need to worry about it" <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

I remember the Y2K bug but not that attitude- I was working on Y2K compliancy projects from 1995. I got a call from a journalist in 1998 looking for me to supply the doom-and-gloom story she wanted to write about the millennium bug- I told her that everyone was fully aware of the issues and that it would be relatively uneventful (I was right); However that was not the story she wanted to write so she found some teacher of computer science to help her concoct her nightmare scenario.
I actually had more issues with the GPS Rollover bug but thankfully the general public hadn't heard about SatNav at that point.
